Emotions in Playoffs (air date: October 12th, 2012)

The St. Louis Cardinals celebrate after defeating the Texas Rangers 6-2 to win the World Series in Game Seven of the MLB World Series at Busch Stadium.

This week on Athlete’s Angle the boys welcome Ron Hogue back to the show as they talk about the Ryder Cup. The Europeans staged a shocking upset on Sunday which lead to a Tiger Woods apology to the USA rookies. They boys will also talk about the emotions of playing in the playoffs and the effect they have on batters and pitchers. I think you will be surprised by our findings.

Unwritten Rules In Sports (air date: September 28th, 2012)

Coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Greg Shiano is breaking unwritten rules in sports by instructing his players to go all out when other teams are taking a knee to kill the clock.

On this weeks show Jon and Ryan debate how great Buck Pierce’s return is for the Blue and Gold. They will dive into the world of “unwritten rules” in sports specifically Greg Shiano’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers response to opponents kneeing out the clock. Goldeyes Going For It All (air date: September 14th, 2012)

On this weeks show Jon and Ryan will talk about the NHL’s collective bargaining agreement expiring on Saturday and what Jets fans can do about it. They will also talk Bison football as the Herd are off to a 2-0 start this year. As well as your Winnipeg Goldeyes are going for the American Associations Championship tonight in game three of the finals in Wichita. All this and so much more this week on Athlete’s Angle.

Bisons, Bombers, and Goldeyes (air date: September 7th, 2012)

Amos Ramon, seen here jumping clear of a sliding opponent, got the Goldeyes off to a great start in the post season with a 4-4 night at the plate that included a two-run home run and two doubles. The Goldeyes now lead the finals 2-0.

On this week’s show Jon and Ryan are joined by Winnipeg Goldeye’s third baseman Amos Ramon. The Goldeyes went on to sweep their rivals from Fargo 3-0 in playoff action.

We will also talk about the suddenly surging Manitoba Bison football team along with the free falling Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Performance Enhancing Drugs (air date: August 31st, 2012)

After 290 km in the winter bike race in Alaska, Lindsay had to withdraw due to severe frostbite.

On this weeks show Jon and Ryan are joined by Lindsay Gauld! The former endurance athlete was enshrined into the Sports Manitoba Hall of Fame in 1997 for his accomplishments in cycling, cross-country skiing and power skating. We will get some insight as to when he started to notice PED’s creeping into the sport of cycling. We will also get his thoughts on the Lance Armstrong story that has rocked the sports world in the past week.

The boys will also be talking about the big news in Bomber nation when on Saturday the Blue and Gold fired head coach Paul LaPolice.

Freestyle Friday (air date: August 27th, 2012)

Joey Elliot gets helped up as Keron Williams celebrates knocking him to the turf in what turned out to be a tough loss for the Blue and Gold.

On this weeks show Jon and Ryan get into some heated debates. One thinks Joey Elliot is the next mayor of Winnipeg while the other thinks Augusta shouldn’t let women be members. Get ready for this wild ride of sports talk as the discussions get a little heated here on Athlete’s Angle.

Bye Bye Stadium (air date: October 31st, 2011)

After 44 years, Bison football has played their last game at University Stadium. The Bisons will be moving to a new home next year at the Bomber Stadium.

On this weeks show we say good bye to an old friend. After 44 years the University Stadium has seen its last football game. The Bisons closed out their season with a disappointing loss and will begin play next year in the new Bomber Stadium. We also will have alumni recapturing their fondest memories of the stadium as well as Chris Zuk, the host of “This Week In Bison Sports”, will join us. We’ll ask him how the Bison men’s hockey team lost a game several days after winning it. All that and so much more this week on Athlete’s Angle.

Rookies Steal The Show (air date: October 24th, 2011)

Anthony Coombs evades defenders and scores on a 90-yard reception in his first ever CIS game earlier this year against the University of Calgary. In spectacular fashion he finished his debut with 2 touchdowns.

On this weeks show I am joined by Henry and Grayson in the studio. We are talking about the recent phenomenon of rookies becoming impact players. We are seeing this trend grow and develop in the NHL and CIS. We will get an athlete’s perspective on it when Anthony Coombs joins us. Anthony is having a breakout year this year with Bison football. I Hope This Goes Wells (air date October 17th, 2011)

Grayson Wells celebrates after recovering a fumble for a touchdown against the Saskatchewan Huskies. The Bisons knocked off the then undefeated Huskies 26-16 on Home-Coming day for the Brown and Gold at University Stadium.

On this weeks show Grayson Wells from the Bisons is joining me today in studio to guest host the show. He’ll do his best to provide some insight into the MLB Playoffs and fighting in hockey.We are going to talk to Dustin Shulz of the Winnipeg Rifles as he and his teammates prepared for their weekend playoff matchup with the Saskatoon Hilltops.
